Ms. Youngberg is the leader of the Firm’s Health Law Practice Group. Ms. Youngberg practices primarily in the areas of health law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law.
Ms. Youngberg maintains a diverse health law practice counseling physicians, physician groups, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing homes, DME suppliers, nurse practitioners, imaging facilities, home health agencies, pharmacies, institutional clients, physical therapy companies, and other types of healthcare providers and suppliers on a variety of healthcare matters. Specific focuses of her practice include fraud and abuse laws (Stark, False Claims Act, Anti-kickback, and state fraud and abuse laws), Medicare, RAC, ZPIC, MAC and other third party payer audits and appeals, healthcare privacy and security laws (HIPAA), physician fee splitting, corporate practice of medicine, antitrust, healthcare facility licensing, physician licensing, medical staff issues, coding and billing, and certificate of need issues. Ms. Youngberg handles the negotiating and drafting numerous types of healthcare contracts, including hospital-physician contracts, physician employment contracts, managed care contracts, provider-based contracts, management agreements, medical director agreements, clinical co-management agreements, and LLC and corporate organizational documents. She advises clients in connection with setting up new medical practices and other healthcare entities, joint ventures, accountable care organizations (ACOs), clinical integration, IPAs, and PHOs. She has handled numerous transactions involving the acquisitions, sales, and mergers of physician practices and other providers and suppliers.
Ms. Youngberg has been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in Health Care Law. She also has been selected by her peers for inclusion in Mid-South Super Lawyers magazine’s list of “Rising Stars” in Tennessee (for attorneys age 40 and under) in the field of Health Law. She serves on the Executive Council for the Health Law Section of the Tennessee Bar Association.
Ms. Youngberg is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, Medical Group Managers Association, Jackson-Madison County Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Howell Edmunds Chapter of the American Inns of Court, and the Jackson Rotary Club. In her area of practice, she serves as a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of Mid-South Healthcare Executives, and a member of the Advisory Board to the National Association of Health Services Executives. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Board of Directors of the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, and Chairman of the Jackson Rotary Foundation. She is former pro bono counsel to the Health and Healing Clinic, a former member of the Board of Directors of C.A.R.E., and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association.
Ms. Youngberg is a frequent speaker and writer on topics of health law.
