Will Bell will be a featured speaker during the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants Construction Conference to be held in Brentwood, Tennessee on September 28, 2009. Mr. Bell will be speaking on Succession Planning for Contractors. About William C. Bell, Jr.
Will Bell concentrates his practice in the areas of business transactions and formations, commercial loans, trusts and estate planning, probate, and litigation. During 2008, he worked on more than fifty (50) business transactions totaling over $470 Million, including buying and selling operating businesses, mergers of partnerships and corporations, new business formations, acquisitions and sales of commercial real property, and municipal bond transactions.

During 2008, he worked with approximately 150 clients in estate, financial, and business planning matters, including preparation of wills and trusts, revocable living trusts, trusts for gifts to children, and family limited partnerships.

Will represented over 30 estates/trusts in 2008 that involved dealing with IRS and Tennessee Department of Revenue on valuation issues, estate tax and GST tax allocation, valuation discounts for fractional interest ownership, litigation on spouse’s elective share rights, and on will construction, and termination of trusts and changing of trustees.

Last year Will was involved in a variety of commercial litigation cases regarding trust interpretation and construction, will contests, and breach of contract and contract construction.

In 1981, he was admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Tennessee and in the United States District Court of Tennessee (Western District).

Will is a member of the Jackson-Madison County and Tennessee Bar Associations.

He has been associated with the Firm since receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1981 from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
