About Laura A. Williams Laura Williams has significant experience in the areas of business transactions, commercial law, real estate, creditors’ bankruptcy, estate and disability planning, probate, and elder law. She handles commercial real estate closings and represents numerous banks in the structuring of commercial loans and the handling of workouts and bankruptcies. In addition, she has extensive experience in the formation of business entities, drafting agreements regarding the sales of businesses, and other business contracts. She administers estates and advises individuals on wills and disability issues, including Medicaid nursing home benefits.
She was admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Tennessee in 1985 and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court of Tennessee (Western District) and the United States Bankruptcy Court of Tennessee (Western District). Laura is a member of the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Bankruptcy Section of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the Mid-South Commercial Law Institute. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Laura has received the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association’s Pro Bono Project Award and has served three terms on the Executive Committee of the Jackson Chamber of Commerce. She has been associated with the Firm since receiving her Doctor of Jurisprudence, with honors, from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1985.
