Mr. Rainey is a Member of Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell, P.L.C., and has been associated with the Firm since it was founded. Mr. Rainey received his law degree from Vanderbilt University in 1960. In law school, he was on the Vanderbilt Law Review, where he had a case and note accepted for publication.

Mr. Rainey has trial experience representing physicians, hospitals, nurses, clinics, nursing homes, and other healthcare professionals in medical malpractice litigation. In addition, Mr. Rainey has experience in representing hospitals in peer review proceedings. Mr. Rainey is a member of the Firm’s Malpractice and Healthcare Practice Group.

Mr. Rainey has appeared at loss prevention seminars as guest lecturer for the Inner Council of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and for State Volunteer Mutual Insurance Company.  He has also appeared with his partner, Marty Phillips, in a loss prevention film produced by State Volunteer Mutual Insurance Company.

Mr. Rainey has served as vice chairman of the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a Fellow and Life Member of the American Bar Foundation, a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation (former trustee), and an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Tennessee Society of Hospital Attorneys, and the American Association of Hospital Attorneys. Mr. Rainey is a member and past president of the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association and member of the Tennessee Bar Association.

Mr. Rainey has been admitted to practice by the Tennessee Supreme Court since graduation from law school. In addition, he is admitted to practice in the United States District Court of Tennessee (Western District) and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, Ohio.
